Wausau Homes offers the following construction options:

Component Construction Modular Construction Modular vs. Mobile

Component construction involves building various home components such as roof trusses, wall panels and floor panels inside a factory, according to local building codes. These components are then transported to the job site where carpenter crews assemble them into your custom design home. Our very skilled sub-contractors then finish the interior of your home with drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring and cabinetry while roofing and siding are completed on the exterior.

Modular construction starts out similarly to component construction except that the components are fully assembled into modules at the factory, complete with interior and exterior finishes. The modules are then transported to the job site and set by crane. Homes generally consist of two or more modules.

Modular construction should not be confused with mobile home construction. Mobile homes are constructed according to a national HUD code which allows them to be built with different and often lesser quality standards to meet their goal of providing housing that is more affordable than regular housing. Wausau Homes does not build mobile homes and only uses high quality materials and standards in our modular homes.
